Botox® Injection

The repetitive contraction of the forehead and glabella muscles, as well as the orbicular (eye) muscles, are responsible for the appearance of wrinkles.

Prevention is essential for young patients (aged 25 and over) who already have wrinkles in these areas. At this age, wrinkles are erased after one or two treatments.

Wrinkles become irreversible if treated late. In this case, the aim of the Botox® facial injection treatment is to delay the appearance of new wrinkles and improve existing wrinkles while making them less deep.

The final result appears after 5 to 15 days, depending on the patient and the type of botulinum toxin injected.

The voluntary contraction of the muscles gradually diminishes, disappearing completely after 15 days if patients require a maximum smoothing effect. In this case, the next Botox® injection into the face will not take place for 4 to 6 months.

If patients ask to be able to continue to move their foreheads, glabellae and crow’s feet (discreet effect), the new injection will be given after 3 to 4 months, its duration of action being shortened.

A touch-up may be necessary if the desired result is not obtained 15 to 21 days after treatment. Under no circumstances should the treatment be repeated more than 3 weeks later, to avoid the appearance of antibodies, which could lead to a lack of response to the treatment at the time of the next injections.

A minimum of 3 months is required between two treatments for the same reason.

The real effect of Botox injections ®is the appearance of a luminous, rested face without looking stiff.
