Reconstruction after skin cancer

HomeBodyReconstruction after skin cancer

Melanoma treatment involves surgery. The surgeon removes the lesion with a variable safety margin depending on its thickness (measured during the initial analysis). It is often necessary to perform a skin graft or a skin flap following the resumption of melanoma scarring. Microscopic analysis of the tumor after removal ensures that it has been completely removed. Sentinel lymph node analysis is performed for skin cancer over 1 mm thick, preceded by lympho-scintigraphy on the morning of the operation.
