The skin on the inside of the arms is very thin, and is put under a great deal of stress by movement and significant or repetitive weight variations. This explains why, whether or not associated with excess fat, skin slackening is frequently observed in this region.<\/p>

Under local or general anesthesia, the aim of the procedure is to reduce excess fatty tissue through liposuction, but also to remove excess skin and re-drape the remaining skin to effectively tighten it.<\/p>

The scar is located in the axillary hollow if the excess skin is slight, and can extend along the inner arms in the case of significant excess skin.<\/p>

Complications are rare, except in the case of smokers, who are advised to quit smoking completely at least one month before surgery.<\/p>
